I tend to develop a relationship with my new designs. I like to give them names; generally they relate to nature or natural phenomena. I toyed with calling these “Brook” rings, because the metal wanders along during the fabrication process, but then I settled on Meander Rings—I liked the slight double entendre implied by the name. So meandering describes both the process (the metal wandering) and the outcome (the Meander Ring). My process of making is a lot like meandering, actually; I do this and try that until I’m satisfied with the results, not really certain where it will lead when I begin.
