The Chimes necklaces have been a joy to develop; they’re made of thin-gauge metal for a light touch on the body, and the individual components are hammered so they shimmer and glow. I have a few varieties of them, but the two shown here perfectly demonstrate my goal of incorporating low-waste practices into the design process. Starting with a disk punched out of 24-gauge sterling silver, a second smaller punch removes the center of the disk, creating two individual components. Both pieces are hammered and finished to float on fine sterling silver chain. And nothing is left behind!
Come see the Chimes line of necklaces at Art in the Park in downtown Asheville on Saturday, October 14.
